A Special Partnership

A Special Partnership
Reading Time: 2 minutes

This is the last in a series of guest articles by Gordon Sheppard of KONICA MINOLTA Business Solutions (UK) Ltd.

In his first blog, Gordon, told of his early career with Capital Copiers. Then he detailed the Capital work ethos and changes in the industry and changes in his career. To conclude, Gordon expands on the close working relationship Capital has with Konica Minolta.

Partnership

I used the skills I’d picked up on my return to Capital as well as my core technical & customer care skills and joined Minolta’s Pre-sales Team for complex technical sales.

Just as I thought my connections with Capital had finally come to an end, Capital Document Solutions were awarded an In Partnership Dealership with the recently merged Konica Minolta. I knew that this was going to be a major move for both companies in Scotland.

Now, just last year, my career took another twist and I was appointed as Account Manager for Konica Minolta’s Dealer Channel in Scotland and I found myself back at Capital Document Solutions door, but this time as a supplier.

It’s been great to catch up with some old friends at Capital, and to make some new friends too.

I could say that both nothing has changed and yet everything has changed.

Tom and his team still show the unrelenting, burning desire to be the best in the marketplace with the best products and the best customer service.

Scottish Procurement Framework

But there’s also such a big shift in the positioning of Capital Document Solutions in the Scottish market place with their unique position of being the only local independent office equipment company to achieve supplier status to the Scottish Procurement Framework among other major customer gains. The fact that Capital Document Solutions can win and support (and win awards along the way) in this market segment speaks volumes for the vision and determination for Capital to be the best. That vision and determination was quite clear to me away back in 1985.

So, I’m happy to report that my association with Capital Document Solutions continues through Konica Minolta and here’s hoping that the unique and unusual connection I have with Capital will help both them and Konica Minolta grow a mutually beneficial relationship into the distance future!

A big thank you to Gordon Sheppard, Area Account Manager, Indirect Sales Division of KONICA MINOLTA Business Solutions (UK) Ltd.
