Ricoh wins at Green Awards 2011

We’re delighted to announce that our partner Ricoh was presented with one of the top prizes at the prestigious International Green Awards 2011. The Ricoh Sustainability Optimisation Programme scooped the Silver Award in the ‘Best Green Service Innovation’ category. The award recognises a service that minimises resource use, is truly sustainable and has a genuine ‘value-added’ proposition. In just two years, Ricoh and their partners have helped more than 4,300 customers reduce their carbon emissions by an average of 35% and reduce the total cost of ownership of Ricoh devices by 28%. The Programme, accredited by the British Standards Institution (BSI), is available as part of a Managed Print Service which is designed to help businesses reduce, optimise and neutralise their carbon emissions, to create a carbon balanced print environment.

It’s the third time Ricoh has been independently awarded the Programme this year. It also received the top prize in the ‘EFQM Sustainability Good Practice Competition’ and was recognised by NIMA, the Dutch Institute of Marketing in the Sustainable Business category. Olivier Vriesendorp, Marketing Director Ricoh Europe said, “Ricoh is committed to go beyond simply meeting regulatory requirements. Welcome to the new Capital website!

Hello and welcome to the new Capital Solutions website and blog! I’m Tom Flockhart and what better way to look forward to 2012 than with a brand new website! I hope you like the new look and feel and content of the site. I hope you’ve had a chance to look around and if not, then I encourage you to take a few minutes to dive in and explore.

Myself and the team will also be blogging on a regular basis to keep you up-to-date on the latest trends in document solutions from our partners, industry analysts and the wider business marketplace. Some of the themes we’ll be covering include: how to reduce the cost of copying and printing, document security, mobile printing, green issues as well as tips on how to deal with information overload. We will also be featuring mini case studies giving you details on how we’ve helped some of our clients gain control of their documents and their costs. We’ll be covering topics that will interest senior managers from both the public and private sectors as we all try to do more with less and at less cost through these challenging economic times. There’s a lot of buzz in the business community just now about Managed Print Service and to be honest, quite a lot of hype too. But what is a Managed Print Service? Look on industry websites and you’ll probably come away with many different descriptions.

I’ll keep it simple – a Managed Print Service can help you gain control of your copy/print/scan fleet, reduce the total cost of running it and also give you peace of mind that one supplier will look after all your document needs. You don’t need to deal with different suppliers for equipment, service, consumables and support, now all you need is one supplier and one invoice each quarter.

And the stats for those who do implement a Managed Print Service are impressive – some of the clients I deal with have made six figure savings every year - no wonder it’s creating such a buzz!

It’s because MPS can save companies so much money that I predict it will be a service that will be around for some time to come.
