Aberdeen International Youth Festival is one of the world’s biggest celebrations of youth arts. After celebrating its successful 40th anniversary the Festival continues its commitment to nurturing and developing artistic and creative talent by providing world class venues for young people to perform to welcoming audiences.

Although the AIYF Is a platform for high quality amateur groups including the National Youth Arts organisations, in their strategic artistic vision they plan to also be a platform for young professional performers across different genres.

AIYF brings you the very best in international culture and the performing arts, theatre, dance, world music, opera, orchestras and jazz but also includes new initiatives like the Spotlight Sessions and the Lemon Tree Youth Dance & Theatre Series.

AIYF began its life as a classical music festival in the 1960s in Switzerland and moved to Aberdeen in 1973, where orchestras and chamber musicians from across Europe gathered to perform and collaborate in a festival environment.

Over forty years later and the festival has now grown, modernised and includes even more genres of the youth arts movement including dance, theatre, opera and world music.

Now a truly international event, with participants travelling from all four corners of the globe to take part, AIYF is also committed to supporting emerging talent from across Scotland and the rest of the UK.

Over the years AIYF has hosted more than 25,000 young people from around the globe, making it one of the biggest and most successful gatherings of youth talent held anywhere in the world.

AIYF brings more than 10 days of top class performances from around Scotland and the rest of the world.

We have 10 free tickets to give away to this fantastic event for the first 10 people to leave a comment below.
