Several key Capital Document Solutions personnel have been honoured for their loyal service as part of the company’s annual conference.

Eleven members of the team were given awards in recognition of their dedication to the company over periods ranging from 10 to 30 years.

Karen Law received an award for 10 years’ service; John Hynds and Steven Miller received awards for 20 years’ service; Jim Hislop, James Scott and Colin Quinn received honours for 25 years’ service, and Gary Allan, Lynne Borland, John Cameron, Peter Major and Dougie Russell all received accolades for 30 years’ service.

Capital held the event at the Signet Library in Edinburgh as a thank you to its 170 staff following a year of remarkable success, which culminated in a prestigious award win and best-ever company results.

Former Britain’s Got Talent star Kevin Orkian provided the night’s entertainment, while Ciara Harvie, the daughter of Capital’s Area Sales Director Mark Harvie, sang a selection of classical songs. Ciara (15) was among the runners-up in the recent Edinburgh’s Got Talent competition.

In 2012 Capital significantly increased turnover and staff numbers following a series of major public and private sector contract wins. The company also trained a number of young people through its long-standing SVQ apprenticeship schemes as well as taking on four trainees under the Edinburgh Guarantee initiative.

The business also won a prestigious award for the high level and quality of its services to end users in the Scottish public sector. Capital collected the Best Service Award at the Government Opportunities (GO) Awards Scotland.

Additionally, the office equipment specialist recently announced the acquisition of an Inverness-based business, Highland Office Equipment, increasing its number of staff to 200 and bolstering the expanded company’s turnover to in excess of £20m.

Tom Flockhart, Founder and Managing Director of Capital Document Solutions, said: “It was a wonderful occasion and I was delighted that so many of our colleagues were able to make it. We’ve long held the view that our people are crucial to the success of the company, particularly those members of staff who have been with us for so many years.”
