One of the country’s leading musicians is set to perform to hundreds of people as part of an event sponsored by Capital Document Solutions.  The concert, Benedetti and Elschenbroich Play Brahms, is conducted by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) and takes place at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh on Friday, December 13 2013.

Internationally renowned classical violinist Nicola Benedetti will be joined on stage by cellist Leonard Elschenbroich, who was named as a BBC New Generation Artist October 2012–2014. The duo will be led by conductor Yann Pascal Tortelier.

Originally from West Kilbride, Nicola has performed at prestigious venues around the world as part of major orchestras. She was awarded an MBE earlier this year for her services to music and charity.

“We are delighted to continue our long-standing support of the RSNO and I am personally looking forward to the organisation’s 2014 programme of events.”

The Royal Scottish National Orchestra is one of Europe’s leading symphony orchestras. Formed in 1891 as the Scottish Orchestra, the company became the Scottish National Orchestra in 1950, and was awarded Royal Patronage in 1991.

Throughout its proud history, the Orchestra has played an important part in Scotland’s musical life, including performing at the opening ceremony of the Scottish Parliament building in 2004
