Award-winning office equipment specialist Capital Document Solutions has secured a major contract with BP.

The agreement is worth in the region of £600,000 over four years. It will see Capital provide a wide range of copying, printing and scanning equipment together with fleet management software to a number of BP’s North Sea assets.

The company, which has operations in Aberdeen, Inverness, Shetland, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow, will also provide comprehensive support and maintenance as part of the deal.

Tom Flockhart, Founder and Managing Director of Capital, said: “This contract award further enhances our reputation for providing first-class services to a wide – and ever growing – range of clients in the oil and gas sector.

“Our understanding of this sector’s requirements, and our proven capability to deliver bespoke document solutions and services to it, has led to many successful partnerships. We are looking forward to developing an excellent working relationship with BP.”

Andrew Aikman, Sales Director at Capital Document Solutions, said: “We are very quickly building up a level of oil and gas expertise that is second-to-none in the office equipment industry.

“Our offshore team has once again proven capable of delivering an unrivalled level of service in an extremely challenging environment. Everyone connected to BP has been extremely meticulous throughout the process and it has been a pleasure to work with them.”

This latest project is a further boost to Capital following a series of public and private sector contract wins for the company. The company increased year-on-year turnover from £14.5m to £16.5m for its 2012 year end in December.

Additionally, the office equipment specialist recently announced the acquisition of Inverness-based business, Highland Office Equipment, increasing its total number of staff to 200. Capital’s turnover is now in excess of £20m and the acquisition puts the expanded company in a strong position to achieve its £30m turnover objective by the end of 2015.

Established in 1979, Capital provides a range of office equipment and document management solutions including photocopiers, printers, scanners and software with comprehensive national maintenance and training support.

The company recently completed an advanced registration assessment, enhancing its First Point Assessment (FPAL) profile. Capital is the only document solutions company in Scotland to have an advanced registration with FPAL, a supplier management database used by operators and large service contractors in the European oil and gas market.

In October 2012, the business won the Best Service honour at the Government Opportunities (GO) Awards Scotland for the high level and quality of its services to end users in the Scottish public sector.
