Welcome to another Christmas charity round-up! We’re taking a look back at our fundraising efforts for 2019. We’re proud to report that it’s been another successful year for the generous employees of Capital Document Solutions!

Staff support

15th March: We kicked off this year’s fundraising on Red Nose Day, with staff dressing down and keen bakers stepping up to the plate! Our delicious feast helped to raise £320 on the day. We were delighted to donate this to the Red Nose Day fundraising total.

12th April: We raised £185 for  Solving Kids Cancer, a charity close to our employees, by holding a dress down day and Grand National Sweepstake in our head office.

September: Senior Sales Executive, Neil Hunter once again took part in an ultimate road trip up the East Coast of Scotland up to Kirkwall (!) with Lucerne Scotland to raise funds for Marie Curie. Together, the teams raised just under £12000. This is how much it takes to run a Marie Curie centre for just one day (!)

The Lucerne Scotland team, including our very own Neil Hunter from the Edinburgh sales team.

Neil said of the experience:

“I was shocked at the cost of running a hospice for just 24 hours.  It was so rewarding that we were grafting for a hospice. For a group of people who so desperately need that support in a vulnerable time of their lives.”

27th September: We raised £442 for Macmillan Scotland by holding a bake sale and also a dress down day in our head office and in several of our branches.

15th November: We had another successful Children in Need, with a dress down day. Funds raised reached £93 in total!

Supporting local charities in Inverness

In our Inverness branch – Highland Office Equipment has been busy supporting local charities in 2019.

Earlier this year, they attended a charity golf day and dinner, donating stationery and a prize towards the raffle all in aid of Maggie’s cancer support. They also took a team along to the Donnie Fraser Memorial golf day at Castle Stuart, with all proceeds going towards Highland Hospice.

Highland Hospice is a charity close to our hearts, and our Inverness branch is supporting them again this December with an office raffle. All proceeds will go to the charity.

Christmas charity campaign

3rd December: our Glasgow office supported Glasgow Care Foundation who is based locally in Govan, by donating toys for children and teenagers, to support local families living in poverty this Christmas.

13th December: we were delighted to host another Christmas Jumper Day in aid of Cash For Kids: Mission Christmas, with each office, donating to their local station.

Our Edinburgh and Aberdeen branches were also registered as Mission Christmas drop off points. Our Christmas Jumper Day efforts raised £244 in total, helping us to buy lots of presents for underprivileged children in our local communities. Staff also generously donated additional gifts to our drop-off boxes.

In Inverness, we donated a printer to the local MFR Cash for Kids Mission Christmas HQ.

The Polar Academy

This year we were also delighted to support and donate to The Polar Academy, a charity set up to change the lives of young men and women involved for the good.

Featured in a BBC documentary back in October, this inspiring initiative aims to unlock the potential of these ‘invisible’ 14-17-year-old school pupils, building their confidence through a rigorous 10-month training program followed by an intense 10 days navigating across Greenland – one of the world’s most remote and challenging terrains.

Craig Mathieson – founder of the Polar Academy

We had the pleasure of hosting a presentation by Craig Mathieson, founder of The Polar Academy at our Edinburgh Head Office on Wednesday 11th September.

Craig gave a highly motivational talk at our half-yearly sales conference. We found it so inspiring that we invited him to do the same again at our Edinburgh showroom.  We invited over 80 of our clients, friends, and staff in order to spread the word and reach out to more of our local community.

What a fantastic year it has been for our charity fundraising!

Congratulations, everyone! Keep an eye on our LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter pages to see what we get up to next year.
