Capital Document Solutions are proud donors and corporate supporters of the V&A Dundee. We were delighted by the recent opening of the V&A Museum of Design Dundee.
We have been donating to the museum’s development since 2015, when the construction of the Kengo Kuma designed building started at the heart of the Dundee waterfront redevelopment.

State of the art
Having recently welcomed its 100,000th visitor, the V&A is an £81m celebration of design that supporters hope will revive the often overlooked city of Dundee.
Despite Dundee’s scenic location on the Tay estuary, its waterfront remains notoriously neglected. The city’s architecture has been disfigured by 1960s urban planning. Its industry was impacted by the decline in the once-thriving jute manufacture.
The form was inspired by the cliffs on Scotland’s north-eastern coastline. With its “prow” jutting over the water like a boat, the building is already an iconic one. A great reflection of the shipbuilding heritage of the city.
Philip Long, the director of V&A Dundee, said the city chose the V&A, not the other way around. This was due to a close relationship with The University of Dundee, and the museum fitting in perfectly with the 30-year development of its waterfront, and the V&A’s desire to connect across the UK.
