Cash for Kids has received a major boost after office equipment specialist Capital Document Solutions raised nearly £5,000 to help disadvantaged children across the north-east.

Members of staff from Capital’s Aberdeen branch, along with managing director Tom Flockhart and Cash for Kids’ charity manager Emma Kemp, took part in a gruelling 12-hour challenge.

The Child Heroes team travelled to Bennachie, near Inverurie, before setting off from the Bennachie Centre, along the Gordon Way to Suie Car Park and then returning to the centre after the 23-mile hike.

The team raised a total of £4,667.50, having previously set themselves a target of £2,000.

Tom Flockhart, founder and managing director at Capital, said: “It was an outstanding effort by the entire team to complete the challenge despite the tough conditions. The experience demonstrates what can be achieved through teamwork and hard work; they should all be extremely proud of their achievement.

“We’re delighted to be able to support Cash for Kids in this way and hopefully the money raised by the team will go some way towards supporting the charity continue its fine work supporting disadvantaged children.”

Emma Kemp, charity manager at Cash for Kids, said: “I’d like to thank the entire team from Capital Document Solutions for their fantastic efforts. Even though conditions were snowy underfoot on the day, everyone pulled together to make sure we completed the challenge.

“We’re extremely grateful for the company’s generous support, which will play an important role in helping sick, disabled and underprivileged children in our local area.”

Cash for Kids supports sick, disabled and disadvantaged children and young people under the age of 18 across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
