Capital’s continued support for the Borders Change Foundation

Capital’s continued support for the Borders Change Foundation
Reading Time: 3 minutes

Friday 7th September saw a return of local individuals and businesses to the Borders Change Foundation’s annual charity dinner.

A Capital event

the Borders Change Foundation's annual charity dinnerRepresentatives from Capital Document Solutions this year included Managing Director & Founder Tom Flockhart, Area Sales Director John Campbell, and also Service Development Director Ronnie Melvin.

The evening also featured a silent raffle. We were delighted to have donated one of the popular prizes, an Apple iPad.  We were also proud to have been able to use our printing services to provide the programmes. These were overseen by Joyce Campbell, our Client Support Manager & Production Specialist.

The Borders Change Foundation

The Borders Change Foundation was originally set up by James Marjoribanks to support local health charities.  This year’s event took place at the Carfraemill Lodge Hotel, and was in aid of Marie Curie.

In total, over £26,500 was raised this year, with proceeds going to Marie Curie and also Doddie Weir. As well as aiding Marie Curie’s work with terminal illnesses, through Doddie, the funds will go towards research into a cure for Motor Neuron Disease.

Marie Curie have commented:

“We are delighted with the amount raised – this will make such a difference to nurseries in the Borders!”

Mr Marjoribanks was thrilled by the level of support, remarking:

“I am overwhelmed once again with the generosity from the people that support this dinner. One of the Borders Change Foundation’s biggest supporters is Capital, and long may it continue!”

Bear with us

As generous as the average bear, our MD Tom Flockhart bid for a fine specimen (who had to get a lift home after being unable to bear the pace!).

A bear with a sore head

The Borders Bear (or Brucie Bear as he is also known to his friends) would like a home. So we are now asking you to paws for thought and consider where you would like him to be donated to. This can be a local charity, or a hospital, or anywhere that is in need of a caring bear.
