Capital Document Solutions were delighted to support Children 1st at their recent Catalyst for Change event hosted by Fiona McLeod MSP.

Catalyst for change

Leading charity CHILDREN 1ST celebrated its revamped IT system on 14th May 2013 with a reception at the Scottish Parliament.

The new “Catalyst for Change” IT system improves the support it provides Scotland’s vulnerable young people and also their families.

With funding from the Scottish Investment Fund and software from Microsoft, the £1 million plus project has been three years in the making. It provides the charity with a sharper, more flexible IT set up to better support its work.

This enables CHILDREN 1ST staff and volunteers to work from any of the charity’s locations – or remotely from home.

Catalyst for Change has also seen the onset of enhanced video and web conferencing technology. This improves communications and saves costs across the organisation.

Capital became involved with Children 1st after working closely with the organisation to implement a Managed Print Service and have numerous copiers on sites throughout the charity.

Ade Worley, ICT Manager at Children 1st said:  “We chose Capital because of their professionalism and also their experience in implementing large scale machine placements.

“Capital recommended that we adopt a managed print service, which gives us much greater control over our print environment.

“We’ve also seen a dramatic reduction in our print costs. Documents are only released when the user enters their pin at the machine.

“We’re also saving on consumables and energy costs as we have rationalised our fleet to one manufacturer – Ricoh.

“Service from Capital is brilliant. Everyone we deal with, from Contract Manager to Helpdesk Support to Field Engineers are all very professional.

“So we would be delighted to recommend Capital Solutions to any Scottish charity.”
