With August just around the corner, Edinburgh is buzzing with pre-festival excitement!
According to Essential Edinburgh, George Street saw over 700,000 visitors over the course of August 2012. This year, George Street will have it’s own festival showcasing the street’s restaurants and some of the city’s best performers.
Andy Neal, Chief Executive of Essential Edinburgh, said George Street could become a standard bearer for a new “continental-style approach to alfresco dining” in Scotland and a haven from the Festival madness.
To get the full experience you can do the rough and ready stuff of the Fringe in the Southside and enjoy the more sophisticated and chilled side in George Street. You will be able to sit in George Street with a glass of wine, maybe have a string quartet playing and view some of the arts exhibits and enjoy a different tone and angle on the Festival.”
One of the performers that Essential Edinburgh sought out is Ciara Harvie the very talented daughter of Mark Harvie, Area Sales Director here at Capital, the young classical soprano who competed in Edinburgh’s Got Talent and who also performed at our annual conference.
Ciara Harvie has been invited to sing at The George Street Festival (part of the Edinburgh Festival).
She has four fifty minute slots on the following dates:
- 2nd August 18:00 – Stage 3
- 5th August 17:00 – Stage 2
- 6th August 17:00 – Stage 2
- 7th August 14:00 – Stage 2
Please feel free to come along and support!
