Capital Document Solutions’ IT director Kevin Lorimer recently attended a Digital Transformation Conference at Edinburgh’s Our Dynamic Earth. The event was designed to offer a special forum for engagement through networking, knowledge exchange and also discussion.
The event was well attended by business leaders and IT professionals from a wide range of private and public sector organisations, including chief technology officers, chief operating officers, IT managers and developers. There were presentations from a whole host of digital leaders in Scotland.
The Digital Transformation Conference synopsis:
The business model is changing: transformed by technological advancement and fuelled by global competition. This conference will contextualise the digital landscape, exploring the challenges and opportunities posed and bringing business leaders, marketers and technologists together to discuss how organisations can implement an effective digital strategy.
Kevin Lorimer said: “Digital Transformation was a fantastic event and a real eye opener on a number of areas. Clearly we all need to move fast before we become irrelevant or extinct in this new digital age. For Scottish companies that do embrace the challenge there are real opportunities to bring about disruptive change and truly innovate. History shows you move or die and we Scots are more than able to lead this technical charge.
“The cloud provides the technical game changer and data may be king but it’s more about loving your customer and giving them that personalised service on their terms 24/7. To do that we all have to get out of our silos and work together. Yes, IT speaking to marketing and marketing speaking to finance!
“It’s a new era we’re in where Millennials call the shots and you ignore them at your peril!”
