Amsterdam’s Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra will be performing Shostakovich Symphony No 1 at the Usher Hall this year as part of the Edinburgh International Arts Festival on Wednesday 27th August and Capital Solutions are delighted to be sponsoring this event.
Jean-Yves Thibaudet also makes a solo appearance at the concert in a performance of Ravel’s highly contrastive Piano Concerto in G, followed by Ravel Daphnis et Chloé Suite No 2.

About the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra
The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam is one of the very best orchestras in the world, and it celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2013. The Royal Concertgebouw is completed with 120 musicians from over twenty countries.
In 2004 Mariss Jansons was appointed as the orchestra’s chief conductor. Mariss Jansons has appeared as guest conductor throughout the world including Berlin, Vienna and the London Philharmonic Orchestra and made his first appearance with the Royal Concertgebouw in 1988, he appeared with them almost every year until his appointment as Chief Conductor.
