HOE staff members enjoyed climbing Ben Nevis, the highest UK mountain last month. They climbed 1,344.527 meters above sea level to the snow-covered summit of Ben Nevis.
The team were joined by a few brave partners and children. They were all raising money for Moray Forth Radio Cash For Kids.
Gordon Affleck, Finance Director from Edinburgh HO, also joined Team HOE. He was in practice for his Rob Roy Challenge and admitted, “It was a bit of a slog”.
In addition, Keith Ross, Aberdeen Branch Service Director, also took part (see his forthcoming challenges). “There must have been 3000 people on the summit, all for charity, it was a great experience” he said.
As a result the team have beaten their £2000 target with a total of £3609 (not including Gift Aid of £734).
Snacks and water, kindly donated by Shona Patience at the local Inshes Tesco, provided sustenance. The boys managed an impressive 6 hours while the girls took longer – enjoying the sunshine.

Finally, the reason for choosing Cash for Kids is that they give children in our community the childhood they deserve. They often receive emergency applications for families who are in crisis. They are the only charity in the area which can turn an application around within 24 hours.
