Walk with Scott Glynn – Fundraising Challenge

Walk with Scott Glynn – Fundraising Challenge
Reading Time: 2 minutes

We had a special guest visit our Edinburgh showroom Friday morning – the infamous Scottish comedian Scott Glynn, who proudly hails from Tranent.

He was in to show off the t-shirts he had made for the walk which Capital sponsored. There were a few promotional photos taken for the Walk with Scott fundraising campaign.

Scott has set a goal of raising £5 000 for 5 Scottish charities: Teenage Cancer Trust (Scotland), Cahonas Scotland, Erskine, Hearts & Balls and the Bill McLaren Foundation.

His personal challenge is to walk 56 miles in between playing 6 games of rugby over 2 days! Many may wonder why he’s tackling this, but as he says on his Just Giving page,

“This year I hit THE BIG 50!! I thought I’m gonna do something different… I love walking and rugby, so one day out walking I thought I could do a sponsor walk round East Lothian Rugby clubs and raise money for charity. Then I thought why don’t I ask a couple of my friends if they fancy this…..YES !! Wow….right then now I have to pick a charity???

His plan is to begin 4th May at Ross High RFC and walk to Haddington RFC and play a game of rugby, then walk to Dunbar RFC, play another game of rugby and finish off the day with a walk to North Berwick RFC.

The following day Scott will walk to Preston Lodge RFC, play a game of rugby, then walk to Musselburgh RFC, play another game of rugby, and then walk to his last destination Ross High RFC and play a final game of rugby. That will be quite the feat!

We’ve sponsored Scott, and we hope to bring some more awareness to his challenge and help him reach his goal of £5 000.

If you’re interested in sponsoring Scott, please visit his Just Giving page. There is a bit more information about his challenge, as well as the reasons behind his chosen charities. The monies raised will be split equally between the 5 chosen charities.
