Our Values and Corporate Responsibility

We are passionate about our people, integrity, society, the environment and our Corporate Responsibility.

Attitude is as important as the skills that our employees also bring to their roles.

To be successful and effective in growing our business by growing our people, we also strive to live our values:

  • Integrity  – in our dealings with colleagues, clients, suppliers, contractors, and the general public – we are trustworthy and act with transparency; we are honest and allow people to question or challenge without fear; we are professional by becoming experts in our fields.
  • Responsibility – shared accountability and acceptance of personal responsibility in all business dealings and decision making.  – “It’s up to us” – we lead by example; we are accountable and take ownership;  we have a “can do “ approach – we bring solutions not problems.
  • Care – we are supportive and respect colleagues and customers alike; treating others as we would like to be treated; we pay attention to detail and take pride in our work and workplace; we aim for quality and excellence in what we do.
  • Openness – we are open to learning and taking on new processes. We are open to change and we are open to others’ views; being committed to developing and sharing knowledge and experience; we are team players.

Corporate Responsibility

Capital is fully committed to carrying out our social and corporate responsibility on a consistent basis across all aspects of our operations. To ensure this, the following principles are observed:

Business Integrity – We provide world leading products and services supported by high quality, fast and efficient after-sales care, whilst giving proper consideration to the effect both our own and our suppliers’ operations have on the environment. Therefore, we aim to compete fairly, openly and freely in our marketplace, maintaining sound and healthy relationships with political institutions, government bodies, businesses, organisations and citizens.

Environmental Sustainability – We take environmental responsibility seriously and work continuously to minimise our operational impact on the environment. We implement best practices that reflect our environmental and sustainability concerns. Environmental integrity is fundamentally important to Capital and our suppliers – who are required to equally demonstrate their own commitment and continual improvement programmes.

Respect for Society – We actively engage in activities that contribute to society and the development of culture in Scotland. That is why we support various arts and charitable organisations including: Multiple Sclerosis Society, Leuchie House, Borders Change FoundationThe Vine TrustEdinburgh International Festival, Royal Scottish National Orchestra Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Scottish Opera, Aberdeen International Youth Festival, The Princes Trust and  The Scottish Business Achievement Awards Trust (SBAAT).

Respect for People – We maintain a working environment that is safe and conducive to staff performing their duties effectively, whilst respecting their richly individual and creative characteristics. Furthermore, we create a working environment free of discrimination and are committed to equal opportunities for all.
