The University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) is an integrated university encompassing both further and higher education with campuses spanning North and West Scotland from Argyll to Shetland.
UHI is a diverse and flexible partnership offering learning from access level to PhD, to over 30,000 students in Scotland.
How we helped
Delivered over three phases, Capital and Highland Office Equipment installed 220 devices with print management software for the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) across its partner sites in Orkney, Argyll, Inverness, Moray and Perth.
The first phase of the rollout was particularly challenging due to the pandemic and the worldwide chip shortage. The project was well managed with regular meetings and updates on progress or issues. The project was delivered over a number of phases and has allowed the UHI partnership to benefit from the savings of a single procurement with devices that have proven to be reliable and robust.
Installation was followed up by full training on the new hardware and software by our Customer Training Officers to ensure that all users extract the maximum benefits and return on their investment.
A spokesman for UHI said: “UHI was delighted to work with Highland Office Equipment and Capital Document Solutions in the rollout of Konica Minolta multifunction devices to all our campuses across the Highlands and Islands, Moray and Perthshire.”
By significantly reducing the number of devices required and the introduction of new software enabling UHI to accurately manage the print volumes that are used, we have helped the partnership work towards their carbon reduction targets.
Capital proactively manage the account and attend monthly/quarterly reviews to ensure the contract continues to meet/exceed all of its objectives.
