January usually means snow and sleet for us here in Scotland. However, for some at Capital Document Solutions, it was time to pack bags, and head for the sunnier shores of California and Empower18!
Laserfiche Empower18 opened its doors once more at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center on 9th-12th January 2018.
About Empower18
Every year, over 3000 Laserfiche customers, partners and IT professionals attend the event. More than 250 training sessions and labs were on offer at Empower18, all taught by their own highly experienced staff.
Empower is known as the premier educational and also networking event for the Laserfiche community. It presented opportunities to learn how to improve efficiency and transform organisations, and to exchange best practices.
Session topics included Compliance & Governance, Enterprise Deployment, Process Design & Planning, Project Management, and also Records Management.

This year, our Managing Director & Founder Tom Flockhart, ECM Technical Consultant Ronald Gray, and Professional Services Consultants Sarah Smith and also Kimberley Hearns were in attendance.
The Convention & Entertainment Center, Long BeachA highlight from the first day of the conference was a presentation by one of our clients, Paul Macfarlane, Head of Operations at Glasgow Credit Union, on Automating Financial Services.
Glasgow Credit Union have worked in partnership with Capital as part of their digital transformation project, to implement a Laserfiche Enterprise Content Management solution. The solution helps streamline the lending process, which reduces the time it takes to apply and receive funds, and also presents a substantial return on investment by increasing the Credit Union’s lending capacity.
Ronald said:
“Listening to Paul Mcfarlane’s story about how Laserfiche has helped his company not only achieve £40k in annual savings, but also enable them to double their lending after a three month implementation, was particularly inspiring. Laserfiche announced its top VARs at its annual Winners’ Circle, where it recognises its best-selling achievers.
Capital was delighted to have been in the Circle for the eighth time since 2009. Tom and Ronald proudly represented and collected this year’s award.

Laserfiche and digital transformation
Empower18 highlighted the very latest in the Laserfiche product line and the significance of digital transformation. This included Laserfiche’s model, a framework for organisations to develop efficient digital workplaces.
